Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hard surfaces
A resurgent the Russian player claimed his initial trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The athlete, a former number one, has had a torrid season, managing just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.
The player's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in specific - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with former trainer his previous coach.
Presently training with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's initial title after the Rome competition and first on a hard surface after spring of 2023.
The win also indicates the Russian has secured twenty-one championships at 21 different competitions.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters together, so to win a trophy is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and regular outbursts on court had caused commentators to question if his skill to compete at the top level was concluded.
But the athlete has made changes in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and play aggressively, supported by an better service.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five points to take the lead.
Both players exchanged break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his first ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to force a decider.
Moutet saved 4 early-game chances in a tight third set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner clinched the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
